SURFACE PREPARATION:
Substrate must be structurally sound, free from grease, oil, paint, dirt, dust, sealers. Laitance, curing compounds, and any other foreign material which may prevent proper bonding. A layer of Multicoat’s SCRATCH KOTE 2000 must be applied to the substrate and allowed to dry prior to OVERLAY STAMP MIX application.
MIXING:
OVERLAY STAMP MIX is field mixed with clean potable water to desired consistency based upon scope of application. Add no more than 1½ gallons of water per bag. Mix vigorously with a Multicoat Cage Mixer to disperse all lumps and to thoroughly wet all particles. Adjust to desired consistency by addition of dry material or small amount of water. Mix thoroughly for a maximum of 3 minutes. For best results allow material to set for 3 to 5 minutes, then add a small amount of water and re-break the material.
APPLICATION:
OVERLAY STAMP MIX is typically applied via gauge rake to a consistent thickness of not more than 1/4”. Be sure to keep a wet edge to prevent cold joints from occurring. Allow STAMP MIX to progress to a stiff plastic condition prior to application of the stamps. Spray stamp mats with stamp release spray and place onto Overlay Stamp Mix and imprint to desired texture and effect. Mats will have to be cleaned and release spray applied periodically to prevent sticking.
COLOR:
OVERLAY STAMP MIX should be allowed to dry overnight. The entire surface should be hosed and scrubbed down to remove any remaining release material which has not evaporated. We recommend the use of our MUILTI-STAIN for the final color. Follow directions for MULTI- STAIN found on the pails or instruction sheet.
CURING:
OVERLAY STAMP MIX will harden in approx. 24 hours, and will reach its full strength potential in 28 days. Curing time will vary due to weather conditions, thickness, substrate absorption, etc. Material should be protected from weather elements for a minimum of 24 hours.
LIMITATIONS:
Do not apply if substrate temperature is below 40°F or above 100°F, or if ambient temperature below 40°F above 100°F. Do not apply if precipitation is expected within a twenty four (24) hour period. Do not add other materials to the mixture of the product.
SIZES:
- 65 lb bag
STORAGE:
- 40-90°F.
- Low humidity environment
SHELF LIFE:

STAMP MIX
CEMENT MIXES DECORATIVE PRODUCTS STAMPED CONCRETE FINISH
OVERLAY STAMP MIX is a polymer modified cementitious coating used as an overlay on existing concrete surfaces to achieve a decorative stamped appearance. Designed for resurfacing structurally sound, non-moving concrete. Ideal for worn, discolored, out-of-level substrates. Coverage is approximately 35 sf/bag at 3/8” thickness.
Bag
SURFACE PREPARATION:
MULTICOAT MICRO-TOPPING must be applied to structurally sound substrates. The substrate must be free of mold, mildew, grease, oil, dirt, dust, wax, curing compounds, sealers, paint, efflorescence and any loose material. Cleaning may be accomplished by acid etching, mechanical sanding or minimum 3500 psi power washing. If the surface is cleaned with muriatic acid, it must be thoroughly neutralized by flushing with a solution of baking soda and water. Smooth steel troweled concrete must be roughened to insure a good bond. If patching of the concrete surface is necessary, it may be re-leveled with Multicoat Speed Mix.
EXPANSION JOINTS:
The control and expansion joints are NECESSARY. Do not fill expansion or control joints with MICROTOPPING. Structural cracks and cracks due to continuing movement of the substrate may telegraph through the MICRO-TOPPING. After application of MICRO-TOPPING fill expansion or control joint with suitable caulking.
MIXING:
Pour 5 to 7 quarts of water into a clean pail. Do not deviate from this amount. Slowly add MICROTOPPING to the pail. To avoid lumps, add the powder slowly while mixing. Faster mixing can be achieved by using a drill and paddle mixer. Consistency should be that of pancake batter. Let mixture stand for 3-5 minutes (depending on weather) and then remix. Add Multicoat Colorant at this time if so desired. To insure uniformity, add the same amount of colorant to each pail. Color variations may occur within each pail.
APPLICATION:
MICRO-TOPPING is typically applied using a steel trowel or “Magic trowel” for a smooth finish. MICRO-TOPPING can also be applied using a hopper gun or squeegee. MICRO-TOPPING should be dry after approximately 6-8 hours depending on temperature and humidity. MULTICOAT MULTISTAIN, ACRATHANE COLORSEAL or CLEARSEAL may be applied. Do not bridge expansion or control joints with the MICRO-TOPPING.
LIMITATIONS:
• Do not apply if substrate temperature is below 40°F or above 100°F, or if ambient temperature below 40°F above 100°F. Do not apply if precipitation is expected within a twenty four (24) hour period.
• Newly poured concrete slabs must cure for a minimum of 14 days.
• If product is applied during hot and windy weather, the product will set too fast and become unworkable.
• Installations requiring acid and/or industrial chemical resistance require MICRO-TOPPING to be sealed with Acrathane sealer.
• Using too much water will prevent MICRO-TOPPING from curing properly.
• Applying the MICRO-TOPPING too thick will increase the susceptibility of mud cracking.
PACKAGING AND STORAGE:
MICRO-TOPPING is furnished in 50-lb bags. Shelf life is approximately 24 months. Store in a dry environment.

Bag
SURFACE PREPARATION
- Substrate must be structurally sound and free from grease, oil, dirt, dust, sealers, water repellents and other foreign materials which may interfere with proper bonding. Surface must be completely dry prior to COLORSEAL application.
- Multicoat KRETE KOTE, TOP COAT or other types of overlay materials must be allowed to set up and cure for at least 24 to 48 hours before COLORSEAL application. New concrete should be allowed to cure for a minimum of 20 days and be free from curing compounds, release agents if any, and other water repellent materials which may prevent proper bonding. You may use VAPOR SHIELD as a curing accelerator for green concrete, which would reduce the window from 20 days, to 7 days. Do not use on treated lumber.
MIXING
- First Coat – Mix COLORSEAL to uniformity with slow speed mixer. With continuous mixing add clean water in ratio of 1 part water to 3 parts COLORSEAL. This promotes a strong bond into the substrate and saves cost on materials.
- Second Coat – Mix COLORSEAL to uniformity with slow speed mixer.
(Note: Most paints are created as “tint bases” then tinted to the desired color when ordered. This process is accurate to 1/48th of an ounce of any colored tint. Therefore, If more than 1 container of COLORSEAL is being used for a job it is recommended to combine your paint from different buckets into a larger container to ensure a uniform shade across the entire job. This practice is called “boxing the paint”
APPLICATION
METHODS

Q: Can BG2000 be applied to green concrete?
A: For applications with at least one exposed side, YES. As long as it is firm to touch and cleaned of mold releases and other impurities. Things like: poured in place retaining walls, freshly built block walls, etc. are perfect applications for BG2000.
Q: Is BG2000 oil-based?
A: No, there is no asphalt emulsion in BG2000. Unlike many competitors that claim to be “water-based” but also contain petroleum byproducts, BG2000 is made from 100% Water born acrylics and contains ZERO ASPHALT EMULSION.
Q: Is BG2000 expensive?
A: No, when used in replace of lower end asphalt products consumers see a cost decrease due to its higher coverage rates, lower application time, and clean up time/ease.
Q: How do you bridge expansion joints and wall/floor 90º joints?
A: We recommend embedding a material called Polyester Stitch Bond Fabric into the first coat of BG2000 to act as a reinforcement material for high movement areas. It is an inexpensive way to ensure security and rigidity in areas that may be subject to extreme movement over time.
ACRATHANE COLORSEAL
COMMERCIAL GRADE PAINT & SEALER
ACRATHANE COLORSEAL is a premium quality, water-based, solid color sealer. Acrathane Colorseal works great for both vertical and horizontal applications because of its ability to withstand all harsh pool chemicals and heavy commercial foot traffic. Surface Preparation
Substrate must be structurally sound, free from grease, oil, paint, dirt, dust and sealers. Laitance, curing compounds and any other foreign material which may prevent proper bonding. When applying to any cementitious surface, that surface must be fully cured. Water should be able to penetrate the substrate. If water beads, surface contaminates are present. Insure that surface is not subjected to hydrostatic pressure, if so, do not apply. Concrete slabs and mortar beds should have a coarse finish to assist in bonding. When applying to Gypsum and Lightweight Cement the substrate must have a minimum of 2,000 psi compressive strength. Must be dry and properly cured. Roughen the surfaces by sanding or scarifying, rinse and allow to dry. Do not sand floors that contain asbestos.
Application
Step 1: STANDARD SET MORTAR is to be field mixed with clean potable water and mechanically mixed to desired consistency based upon scope of application. Add approximately 6-1/2 quarts of water into mixing container. Slowly pour the contents of the bag into the mixing water. Mix until a firm, workable consistency is achieved. If more water is needed, add small amounts and continue to mix until consistency is achieved. Let the mixture slake or stand 5 to 10 minutes, then stir again and use. Stir occasionally but do not add more water. Desired consistency should be trowel ridges should stand without slumping. Do not exceed a total volume of 1.5 gallons or water for each 65-lb. bag. Be sure mixed material is consistent from batch to batch. Step 2: Apply STANDARD SET MORTAR to substrate with flat trowel. Use a properly sized notch trowel to insure proper coverage and spread of material under tiles. Work placed STANDARD SET MORTAR with notched trowel to create rows of adhesive to proper thickness for item being placed. Press tile firmly in place, moving back and forth to insure a proper set. Adjust tile quickly and then gently tap into place with rubber mallet or beating block until flush with other units. Periodically pull up a tile or stone and check the back to insure proper adhesive coverage. If mortar has already taken its set under the lifted tile, remove mortar and replace with fresh STANDARD SET MORTAR can be a total of 3/8″ thick once item has been set and tamped into place.
Step 3: Curing time will vary due to weather conditions, thickness, substrate absorption, etc. Material should be protected from weather elements and foot traffic for a minimum of 24 hours. Provision for movement (expansion joints and control joints) and other changes of plane in all installations are required. Do not bridge expansion or control joints. Those joints should be brought up through the work and filled with a suitable caulking.
