SURFACE PREPARATION:

Substrate must be structurally sound and free from grease, oil, dirt, dust, sealers, water repellents and other foreign materials which may interfere with proper bonding. Shot Blasting, sand blasting, or water blasting may be necessary over some surfaces to achieve proper bonding. On concrete block walls, all head and bed joints must be free of holes and finished flush with block substrate. For new poured in place walls, a water-based form release should be used. If an oil base form release must be used the wall must be scrubbed with tri sodium phosphate (TSP), power washed and rinsed.  Horizontal cracks should be treated with Multicoat’s Speed Bond Crack Repair or Speed Mix 2000. Fill any voids, vertical cracks or large cracks with Multicoat’s Speed Mix 2000.

APPLICATION:

Use a 1/2” drill and Multicoat Cage Mixer to mix material. Mix 1-3/4 to 2 gallon of clean potable water to one 65-lb bag of POND KOTE until well blended and lump free. Application on walls can be by spray and trowel, floor can be by broom or squeegee. Apply at coverage rates listed below. Dampen substrate with water before application. Allow material to dry 7 to 10 days prior to filling with water. After filling, run circulation pumps/filters followed by a light brushing to remove any surface containments prior to adding fish.  Longer dry time will be required for interior applications.  Do not bridge expansion or control joints with the POND KOTE.  All expansion or control joints must be cut and cleaned out and filled with approved caulking material.

LIMITATIONS:

Do not apply if substrate temperature is below 40°F or above 100°F, or if ambient temperature below 40°F above 100°F.  Do not apply if precipitation is expected within a twenty four (24) hour period.

PACKAGING AND STORAGE:

Pond Kote is furnished in 65-lb bags. Shelf life is approximately 24 months. Store in a dry environment

Multicoat Corporation offers a special 5-year Limited Materials Warranty to Trained and Certified Applicators. This Limited Warranty (effective upon date of purchase) protects the Applicator against delamination problems with all Multicoat systems, as well as water intrusion of Multicoat’s Waterproofing System, provided:

1. Multicoat system has been properly applied by a certified applicator.

2. Problem is determined to be due to defect of Multicoat Corporation’s products.

3. Applicator has prepared and filed the required Warranty Information Form(s) with Multicoat Products, Inc. covering the specific customer job(s).

NOTE:

Warranty is not applicable if there is movement or cracking of the underlying base and/or the weight bearing cement covering of the waterproofing membrane.

Failure to adhere to good construction and workmanship practices based on industry standard construction, means, methods, sequences and techniques could result in delamination, de-bonding and water intrusion for which Multicoat will not be responsible.

The end user must look to the Certified Applicator for satisfaction if any problem develops with the Multicoat system covered by the warranty. Multicoat suggests that the customer:

1. Use only a licensed contractor in good standing (fully bonded).

2. Make certain that the applicator has been certified by Multicoat, prior to work
