The BG 2000 System is a unique waterproofing system for below grade applications. It is strong enough to withstand sharp backfill without a protection board/coating, but also flexible enough to stretch 3 times its original shape. With all that performance, did we mention that it’s also a soil/green friendly product?

*OPTIONAL – Apply Vapor Shield to the substrate to reduce the green window of concrete, prevent efflorescence, and/or resist hydrostatic pressure coming through wall. Apply with a pump sprayer in conjunction with water, back to back. Repeat for a total of 2 coats. Allow 24 hours to dry prior to application of BG2000.

Spray one (1) heavy coat or roll two (2) coats of MULASTICOAT® BG 2000 over area to be waterproofed at a coverage rate of 35-45 sq. ft. per gallon. ROLLING: use a 3/4″ nap roller and saturate the roller completely. Heavy coats are recommended. Use a mil thickness gauge to ensure achievement of at least two 20 mil coats. SPRAYING: use an airless paint sprayer, any grade will do. For peak performance, use a .025″ – .027″ spray tip. An easy way to achieve the right coverage when spraying is to mark off a 200 sqft area and use an entire 5 gallon bucket to cover that marked area.
Method: ASTM C-297 Result: 335 psi (coh/adh)
Method: ASTM D-412 Result: 399 psi
Method: ASTM D-412 Result: 319.3%
Method: 12” Water/Film @ 40mil Result: Pass 96 Hrs/no effect
Method: ASTM C-1306 Result: Pass >45 psi*
*The test procedure only calls for taking the pressure to 45 psi but after passing so easily, test was taken up to 80 psi for 3 hours and surface still did not leak.
A: For applications with at least one exposed side, YES. As long as it is firm to touch and cleaned of mold releases and other impurities. Things like: poured in place retaining walls, freshly built block walls, etc. are perfect applications for BG2000.
A: No, there is no asphalt emulsion in BG2000. Unlike many competitors that claim to be “water-based” but also contain petroleum byproducts, BG2000 is made from 100% Water born acrylics and contains ZERO ASPHALT EMULSION.
A: No, when used in replace of lower end asphalt products consumers see a cost decrease due to its higher coverage rates, lower application time, and clean up time/ease.
A: We recommend embedding a material called Polyester Stitch Bond Fabric into the first coat of BG2000 to act as a reinforcement material for high movement areas. It is an inexpensive way to ensure security and rigidity in areas that may be subject to extreme movement over time.
