THE BETTER WAY WHEN DIGGING ISN’T AN OPTION
Everyone knows the best way to waterproof a basement is to excavate around the wall, apply BG2000 and bury it. When that solution is just not attainable and a work around is needed, 2 coats of Vapor Shield, and a specially formulated white version of BG2000 can be applied to the interior walls. This will give a resilient paintable surface that prevents efflorescence and withstands water and vapor upwards of 20psi.

Tensile Bond Adhesion to Concrete Tensile Strength
Method: ASTM C-297 Result: 335 psi (coh/adh)
Tensile Strength
Method: ASTM D-412 Result: 399 psi
Elongation
Method: ASTM D-412 Result: 319.3%
Hydrostatic Head
Method: 12” Water/Film @ 40mil Result: Pass 96 Hrs/no effect
Hydrostatic Pressure
Method: ASTM C-1306 Result: Pass >45 psi*
*The test procedure only calls for taking the pressure to 45 psi but after passing so easily, test was taken up to 80 psi for 3 hours and surface still did not leak.

Q: Is The Interior Damp Proofing System the same as standard below grade waterproofing?
A: The Interior Damp Proofing System is a unique system that attempts to tackle the same issues below grade waterproofing systems solve with less of a cost burden.
Q: Can I apply this system to wood framing?
A: No. Wood Framing will mold when water saturates it from the back side. You must remove all framing prior to applying the system to the bare basement wall.
Q: Can This be painted?
A: Yes, BG2000 (White) is an acrylic product. Any acrylic paint will adhere to it.
Q: How do you bridge expansion joints and wall/floor 90º joints?
A: We recommend embedding a material called Polyester Stitch Bond Fabric into the first coat of BG2000 to act as a reinforcement material for high movement areas. It is an inexpensive way to ensure security and rigidity in areas that may be subject to extreme movement over time.
